MINOR - PLAYER PITCH DIVISION RULES

12.2  MINOR - PLAYER PITCH DIVISION

12.2.1 GAME DURATION

  1. Regular season games shall be six (6) innings or one hour and 45 minutes. A new inning shall not start after the time limit has expired, unless needed to meet the regulation game requirement.

  2. Only the umpire-in-chief may call a game, though this may be done in coordination with the Board Member on Duty.

12.2.2 CONTINUOUS BATTING ORDER

  1. All players will be in the batting order for the duration of the game. Players must still comply with the minimum playing time as outlined in the Little League rule book.

12.2.3 LENGTH OF AN INNING

  1. The side is retired when three offensive players are legally put out, called out by an umpire, or when all players on the roster have batted one time in the half-inning, or when the offensive team has scored five (5) runs.

  2. Each team will be allowed to score unlimited runs in the last inning only (6th inning only). Their half inning at bat will end upon the completion of one of the following: (1) The defensive team records three outs. (2) The offensive team bats their entire lineup.

  3. Each team will bat the same number of players in the last inning (i.e. if Team A has 12 players and Team B has 10 players, Team B will bat once through the lineup and then 2 additional batters will hit in order). This only occurs if the defensive team does not record 3 outs.

All other playing rules will follow the Little League rule book for the Minor Division.

PITCHING

  • Any player who has played the position of catcher in four or more innings in a game is not eligible to pitch on that calendar day.
  • A pitcher who delivers 41 or more pitches in a game cannot play the position of catcher for the remainder of that day.
  • A pitcher once removed from the mound cannot return as a pitcher.

PITCH COUNT

Maximum pitch counts for the Minors Division:

League Age:

  • 9-10: 75 pitches per day
  • 8: 50 pitches per day
  • The Official Pitch Count will be recorded by the Official Scorekeeper. Managers shall not question the official count.
  • The Official Scorekeeper must provide the current pitch count for any pitcher when requested by either manager or umpire. However, the manager is responsible for knowing when his/her pitcher must be removed.
  • The Official Scorekeeper should inform the Umpire-In-Chief when a pitcher has delivered his/her maximum limit of pitches for the game.
  • Failure by the Official Scorekeeper to notify the Umpire-In-Chief, and/or the failure of the Umpire-In-Chief to notify the manager, does not relieve the manager of his/her responsibility to remove a pitcher when that pitcher is no longer eligible.
